It all started in January 2021. Two new customers of a local craft beer bar, Ryan and Tripp, started coming every Friday for lunch. Joe, the Beer Manager of the bar, overheard them talking about craft beer and joined the discussion. In the following weeks, the three of us started bringing really good beer to share with each other and talk about. And thus, the foundation of what is now a tradition had been laid.

As the weeks and months went on, and as new Friday customers would hang out, we'd invite them to join us. We typically leave a little bit in each beer can/bottle, so that anyone interested could pour a sip and try styles of beer that they may not be familiar with, not to mention amazing beers that are not available in our area. Within a few months later, we'd have old and new friends bringing beers to share on a regular basis. Over time, the tradition kept growing, to the point where, on December 17, 2022, we had 17 people and shared 70+ different beers. (This is why the photo for that date is just a photo of the people in attendance, instead of the beers.) To be fair, that was an exception to the rule; we typically have 5-10 people and share 10-20 beers on an average Friday.

Eventually, we decided that it would be a good idea to start documenting our Fridays and come up with a name for our shenanigans. As a result, the Friday Cuvée Club was established. If you're curious, cuvée (pronounced koo-vay) is a French word that began in the wine industry. For modern alcoholic bevarages, it means a blend of batches. Because we're "blending" great beers and great people, we thought it was appropriate.

Our current home is Ash's Irish Pub in downtown Olive Branch, MS. If you're in town on a Friday afternoon, come join us upstairs in the lounge.
